　　The first meeting of the Standing Committee of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection was held on the 29th. Zhao Leji, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. He stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as guidance, remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, perform our duties and responsibilities bravely, and build the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection into a strong fighting collective loyal to the Party, so as to better shoulder the major political responsibility of resolutely upholding the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core.

　　Zhao Leji pointed out that studying and implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC is the primary political task for the entire Party in the current period and for some time to come. The Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection should take the lead in learning, thinking, and implementing, putting themselves and their responsibilities into the equation, mastering, understanding, and putting into practice the spirit of the Congress, becoming more consciously committed to resolutely upholding General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position in the Party Central Committee and the entire Party, resolutely upholding the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the Party Central Committee, and effectively enhancing political awareness, awareness of the overall situation, core awareness, and awareness of aligning with the central leadership, maintaining high consistency with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core in thought, politics, and action; more consciously arming the minds, guiding practice, and promoting work with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, continuously improving the level of Marxist theory, and continuously enhancing confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture; more consciously adhering to and strengthening the Party's overall leadership, tirelessly promoting the in-depth development of full and strict governance over the Party, and making the Party stronger and more powerful; and more consciously adhering to and carrying forward the good practices and experience of the 18th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, not slackening, not stopping, and setting off again, in accordance with the new deployments and requirements of the 19th National Congress, faithfully performing the supervisory, disciplinary, and accountability responsibilities entrusted by the Party Constitution, placing the Party's political construction in the first place, persistently rectifying the style of work and maintaining discipline, winning a decisive victory in the fight against corruption, working to improve the Party and state's supervision system, strengthening the deterrent effect of "not daring to be corrupt," tightening the cage of "not being able to be corrupt," and enhancing the self-awareness of "not wanting to be corrupt," and creating a new situation with a new style of work.

　　Zhao Leji stressed that the members of the Standing Committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection must be loyal to the Party, loyal to the people, and loyal to the ideals and beliefs of communists, and be loyal guardians of the Party and the people. They must enhance their political standing, consciously work within the overall situation, take the lead in upholding the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the Party Central Committee, take the lead in implementing the Party's guidelines, policies, and major decisions and deployments. They must be brave in shouldering responsibilities, be pragmatic and truthful, perform their duties and responsibilities, enhance their abilities, and creatively do a good job in all aspects of their work. For the departments and units they oversee, they must not only strictly demand work, but also strictly manage the leadership team and lead the team well. They must maintain clean integrity, model themselves on the Party Constitution, Party regulations, and Party discipline, earnestly practice the "Three Stricts and Three Earnests," strictly abide by the eight-point regulation of the Central Committee, the norms for clean self-discipline, and relevant regulations on work and living allowances, and lead by example and set a benchmark for the vast number of discipline inspection cadres with their own actions.
